Mango Fruit with Mesh Tool – A Creative Digital Illustration.
Mango Fruit with Mesh Tool – A Creative Digital Illustration.
- Designing fruits in digital art is both fun and educational, especially when using advanced tools like the Mesh Tool in Adobe Illustrator. The Mesh Tool allows designers to add smooth gradients, multiple color tones, and realistic blending effects that bring simple vector shapes to life. In this artwork, I have chosen to create a mango fruit, which is often considered the “King of Fruits” because of its taste, beauty, and cultural significance.
- The process begins with drawing a basic mango shape using the Pen Tool or an Ellipse Tool with modifications. Once the outline is ready, the Mesh Tool is applied to divide the shape into grids. These grids can then be filled with different shades of red, yellow, orange, and green to create a natural and realistic color transition. The beauty of the Mesh Tool is that it allows smooth blending of colors, making the fruit appear vibrant and lively rather than flat.
- For this mango design, multiple color gradients have been carefully applied to represent the ripe texture of the fruit. The top portion has a red-orange tone, while the middle shows yellow shades, and the lower side features a touch of green. This variety of colors highlights the natural ripening stages of a mango. Additionally, a stem and leaf are added to complete the design, with the leaf having a linear vein pattern to make it more realistic.
- This illustration is a great example of how digital tools can transform simple shapes into professional artworks. By practicing with the Mesh Tool, graphic design students can improve their understanding of gradients, shading, and realism in vector art. The mango fruit design not only looks appealing but also shows the creative possibilities of Adobe Illustrator.
